The month of January has been a busy one for AIA-NJ.   It was a month of celebration, looking back and looking forward.

Friday, January 9th was the Annual Awards Gala, the 2015 officers were installed, Design Awards highlighted, Service Awards recipients  honored, and the years scholarship was presented to a local college student.  A wonderful evening was had, and we all expressed excitement for the year to come.

For a list of the honorees and officers see more information on the Awards Gala here.  Congratulations to all winners and honorees that represent the best of AIA New Jersey.

As part of the celebration, my first official events as AIA-NJ president were visiting our local sections to honor our volunteers and incoming officers of the local sections.  Congratulations to our fellow AIA members who have stepped up to serve our organization and make our profession better.

Thank You to both Architect’s League of Northern NJ and AIA Newark & Suburban for hosting fun events that brought together architects and allied professionals.

The business of AIA-NJ has also gotten off to a busy start.  Our new board will come together for the first board meeting on January 28th.   Planning is underway with NJIT for an IDP Seminar in February for our future architects.  Similarly, a number of committees have been meeting on a number of issues.  We hopefully will have news to share on these in the coming months.

If there is an issue that is important to you regarding our profession, please reach out.
