Job Description – Project Manager (FT) – Princeton, NJ

For this full-time position, JRS is seeking an architectural degree graduate with 3 to 5 years of consecutive work experience in the corporate sector with preferred experience also in education, retail and/or hospitality. The candidate will need a proven track record in interior fit outs with experience in adaptive reuse and ground up.

What is it like to be on the JRS Team:

As a mid-size architectural firm, JRS affords its team members the opportunity to work across industries while handling a subset of a project to managing a project independently. This position will work with two highly seasoned and accomplished architectural design professionals with long standing tenue at JRS providing an excellent opportunity to learn from one’ peers. This role will also have interaction with our office in Long Island, further expanding one’s reach of projects along with diversity of work. This position will be client and vendor facing and includes travel to client sites. As a “flat” organization, this position works directly across of all of the JRS team while JRS is a firm where decisions and direction are provided quickly as to create responsive team environment.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-year Architectural Degree
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience with the ability to demonstrate the previously listed competencies and skills

Required Experience:

  • Corporate sector with preferred experience also in education, retail and hospitality
  • Interior fit outs with some experience in adaptive reuse and ground up
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and establish the appropriate priorities
  • Has successfully and independently managed components of a project or small projects; Plan and manage client meetings for review/updates, schematic drawing reviews, bid dates confirmation, engineering consultant progress reviews, issue identification and resolution and user client deliverables

Required Interpersonal Skills:

  • Proven communication skills across the trades, clients and with team members
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Takes ownership, demonstrating initiative and timely action
  • Highly motivated

Required Competencies with Proven Proficiency:

  • Creation of Construction Drawings and Drawing Coordination with all necessary disciplines
  • Critical Thinking/Problem Solving
  • Ability to lead the process of architectural and interior detailing
  • Space Planning
  • Design
  • Project Management – ability to independently plan, coordinate and manage a small project across all necessary disciplines and with the client;
  • Highly organized and strong time management abilities
  • Investigating and researching product lines and capabilities

Required Technical Skills:

  • AutoCAD – 3 to 5 years’ of consecutive experience
  • 3D Max (Preferred but may also be in Rhino) – minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Photoshop – minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Revit – preferred minimum 2 years’ experience
  • MS Suite – 3 to 5 years’ of consecutive experience
  • Sketch-up – minimum 2 years’ experience
