AIA-NJ AIA New Jersey Continues to Proudly Support the NJIT College of Architecture and Design Lecture Series

The NJIT College of Architecture and Design Lecture Series is currently organized by a committee consisting of Martina Decker, Keith Krumwiede, and Andrzej Zarzycki and continues to bring noted guests. Previous speakers include Thom Mayne, FAIA; Stephen Kieran, FAIA; William Mitchell; Bernard Tschumi, FAIA; Preston Scott Cohen and Stan Allen, AIA. Since 2007, an endowment established with the American Institute of Architects New Jersey Chapter (AIANJ) has increased the breadth of the lecture series by allowing for the establishment of the AIANJ Endowed Lecture each Spring and a symposium each fall.

The Fall 2017 CoAD symposium, in collaboration with the NJIT Honors College and through the AIANJ endowment,  hosted “Designing Keurig” colloquium. Recent symposia have included Material Evidence, which explored how new technologies were shaping the notion of architecture as a material practice; New Jersey/Netherlands (NJ/NL), which introduced ways in which two of the densest states on the planet engage issues of development, transportation, and smart growth; and Information Models in Contemporary Practice, which studied the impact of Building Information Modeling (BIM) on the practice of architecture. Information on AIA Symposium coming soon.

Unless otherwise noted, lectures are held on Mondays at 5:00 p.m. in Weston Lecture Hall I, and are free and open to the public. For more information or reservations please call (973) 596-3080. The College of Architecture and Design Evening Lecture Series is registered with the AIA Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) and offers learning units which may be self-reported. The New Jersey School of Architecture is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and is in compliance with all criteria standards.
