The jurors felt that this adaptive re-use is phenomenal. Take an ordinary building and make something like this is remarkable. Lighting works. Gathering space as a ship’s prow is very powerful. The sense of entry with the use of the A-frame adhering to the language of the loft building Made use of the sculpture. Far more subtle with an explosion. Creates a common space. Ambitious with an end. Sign gesturing to the highway –monumental graphic.
