EVENT DETAILS

The evening will begin with the installation of the 2018 AIA Central New Jersey Board. This will be followed by a panelist discussion on the challenges and opportunities for women in architecture (a CEU presentation at 1.0 to 1.5 LUs).

Megan Pritts, Assoc. AIA – Designer / Project Manager at JZA+D. Megan is the 2018 AIA New JerseyRegional Associates Director, an Associate Member of the AIA Central New Jersey Board, and an active member in AIA NJ’s Emerging Professionals Community (EPiC). Megan will be the moderator for the panel discussion.

Liz Cook, AIA – Principal / Vice President at HDR. Leading teams on large complex projects with a focus on Science + Technology, Liz has had the opportunity to engage in all facets of the architectural industry, from marketing and strategy, to design and construction. She has worked with academic, government, and corporate clients.

Martina Decker, AIA – Assistant Professor at NJIT’s College of Architecture and Design, and Director of the Idea Factory. Martina has worked on a wide range of award-winning projects that represent a penchant for interdisciplinary work. She has had her work published internationally, and displayed at art and design galleries alike.

Verity Frizzell, AIA – Principal Architect at Feltz & Frizzell Architects. Verity is the 2018 AIA New Jersey President. Her experience ranges from commercial to residential with an emphasis on small scale projects. Throughout her career she has been very active with a number of professional organizations and has won several awards for her service.

Karen Nichols, FAIA – Principal at Michael Graves Architecture and Design. Karen is a member of the Advisory Boards of NJIT’s College of Architecture & Design, and Kean University’s Michael Graves College. She is the 2018 Chair of the AIA’s Jury of Fellows and a long time champion for women in architecture.

Kirsten Sibilia, AIA – Managing Partner of Dattner Architects. Kirsten is a vocal advocate for impactful design, diversity and equity in practice, and creating resilient and sustainable urban density. She is on the Board of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation, an organization dedicated to the advancement of women in architecture.
