WEST ORANGE, NJ – As Posen Architects celebrates its 20th anniversary, the firm introduces a new leadership team structure. Dennis Posen, AIA, the founder of the firm, welcomes long-time Posen staff members Lori Klein, CID, and Kosta Koulouris, AIA, as well as recently hired Thomas A. Fantacone, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, to join him as principals. Each principal will continue to actively lead individual projects, and will now share responsibility for the firm’s architectural and interior design direction, operational management, strategic planning and business development.

Lori Klein was a founding staff member of Posen Architects in 1996 and has more than 30 years of corporate, healthcare and commercial design experience. In her role on the leadership team, she will continue to focus on the firm’s space planning, programming, and interior design work and manage the firm’s Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) services assisting clients with selection, specification, procurement, delivery and installation. Her projects have included the headquarters for Ansell, Evonik, Daiichi Sankyo, NJ Sharing Network and her design influence is evident in almost every project in the office.

Kosta Koulouris has been with Posen Architects since 2004, overseeing all elements of the architectural design, project management and construction process for clients that include the Dormitory Authority of New York (DASNY) and DASNY’s state-funded community agency partners such as the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), Office of Mental Health (OMH), and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). Koulouris’ leadership responsibilities will include the day-to-day operations of the firm, such as staffing and recruitment, project management, and technology.

“Dennis’ highest priority has always been the quality of the work we provide to clients and welcoming us to join him to form the firm’s leadership team is a very natural evolution for each of us and for the firm,” notes Klein.

Koulouris adds, “We’ve proven that Posen Architects is a firm that moves creative, well-designed projects successfully through the regulatory environment – getting things done. Expanding and sharing the executive leadership functions allows us to build on that strong foundation and grow to better serve our clients’ design and facility needs.”

Thomas Fantacone joined Posen this year, after having worked at firms including Rothe Johnson Associates, Rothe Johnson Fantacone, Fletcher Thompson, and CDI L.R. Kimball. He has an accomplished architectural career of more than 35 years, with projects that include the Robert Wood Johnson Cancer Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield Corporate Office Facility, the Middlesex County Administration Building and Public Safety Building as well as numerous collaborations on 20 college and university campuses in the region. Architectural design will be his focus on the leadership team, including design review of all of the firm’s architectural projects, mentorship of emerging professionals and increasing design recognition for the firm.

“I’m excited to be here and feel that my portfolio of work is a complement to the high caliber work that Posen Architects has been producing for the past 20 years. I look forward to contributing to the leadership team and working with this talented group of colleagues,” remarks Fantacone.

Dennis Posen established Posen Architects in 1996 after 20 years of practice and ownership in other firms. His project experience includes major corporate relocations, institutional master planning, large-scale office development, healthcare facilities and interior architecture. As with the other principals, he will continue to take a design and project management lead on a wide range of individual projects; as a member of the leadership team, he will spearhead business development, finance and strategic planning.

“These are talented professionals and proven leaders –– and I am delighted that we will work together to guide the future of the firm, ” said Posen. “This expanded leadership team will allow us to reach new heights of accomplishment in our work, our professional development, and, most importantly, in our clients’ continued satisfaction.”

The announcement of Posen Architects’ expanded leadership team is an auspicious start to the firm’s 20th anniversary year. Celebrations – to be announced throughout 2016 – will include client recognition and other special events.
