In Memoriam: Janet Lynn Ford

Janet Lynn Ford, 62, of Bloomfield, NJ passed away on December 6, 2017 at Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge, NJ.  Janet was a 1978 graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.  A self-employed licensed architect, Janet designed many new and renovated homes, commercial, and public buildings, primarily in Essex County and on Long Beach Island.  Though Janet is gone, the buildings she designed remain as a tribute to her talent.

She was an AIA Member in the 1980s, and active in AIA|Newark & Suburban, for instance, Co-Chairing the Design Awards Committee one year with Daniel Lincoln, AIA. She is known to many Member Architects in AIA|Newark & Suburban and AIA|Northern League.

 In addition to her work as an architect, Janet enjoyed needlepoint and singing.  She had been a member of the Ars Musica Chorale and performed with them on several overseas tours.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held in Nutley, NJ on January 5, 2018, 4:30 to 8:00PM.  Please RSVP to ulster13@optimum.net  for address and directions.

There will be a memorial service on January 6, 2018 at 11AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Tuckerton, 210 E Main Street, Tuckerton, NJ 08087.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ars Musica Chorale, PO Box 525, Paramus, NJ, 07653.
