Fire Protection Week: Heating Safety

Over the summer months when our heating systems are turned off if it common for us to become lax about heating safety. Keeping heating equipment in good working order is a key to protecting our homes from fire. Before it gets much later, run a heating safety check around your house. Make sure all heating equipment is clear of toys, curtains, furniture, dog beds, anything flammable or that might attract kids or pets. While you are at it, brush out the dust as this will create a burnt smell and could start a fire when you power up the system. This checklist from the National Fire Protection Association will help guide you through your safety check. Share this message with your friends, family and clients.
