AIA New Jersey Leaders Gather to Update Strategic Plan and Set Goals for 2019

On Friday, November 30, President Elect Judy Donnelly, AIA, called a meeting of AIA New Jersey leaders to update the strategic plan and set goals for 2019. The meeting was held at Trenton Country Club in Trenton, NJ. Attendees included representatives from each of the 6 local sections: Architects League incoming president Todd Hause, AIA, Newark and Suburban president elect Paul Tiajoloff, AIA, Central Section president Sean Cuddahy, AIA, and incoming president Donna Terzano, AIA, West Section president elect Jessica O’Donnell, AIA, South Section President Christina Amey, AIA,  and Jersey  Shore past president Verity Frizzell, FAIA. Additional attendees included committee chairs and board members along with representatives from AIA NJ staff.

 

 

The conference is held annually in November to set the agenda for the upcoming year. The program includes a preview of the new calendar, notes any significant events coming up, allows state committees to share ideas and opportunities with the section representatives and introduces new officers to their colleagues. Participants not previously listed include Benjamin Abigail, Kim Bunn, Marvin Clawson, Dave DelVecchio, Matt Fink, Stacey Kliesch, Steven Lazarus, Ben Lee, Bob Longo, William Martin, Vin Minkler, Bryan Pennington, Matt Pultorak, Joyce Scatuccio Brandon Warshofsky,
Josh Zinder and Sal Forgione.

 

 

2019 President Donnelly offered these remarks, “Many thanks to all the presenters and attendees of the 2018 AIA NJ Leadership Training Event. The presentations included the responsibilities of the board, committee chairs and members; we discussed AIA NJ’s alignment with National, President Verity Frizzell introduced our constituents to the upcoming Civic I/O program, our emerging professional leaders shared the resources available through EPiC and we updated our strategic plan with everyone participating in a working session guided by our Executive Director, Joseph Simonetta, Hon AIA. I am very excited about representing AIA NJ as the 2019 president and look forward to carrying on the goals and mission of our great chapter of the AIA.

  1. Congrats to the new NJ officers for 2019!
    Looking to form a committee for Disaster Preparedness for Architects in Education of the Public.
    Also the issue of local chapter AIA members should be eligible to vote in AIA national elections. All members are Architects and should have voting rights to National. How do we address this change?
