This introductory course is intended for those individuals who have no previous knowledge of Revit. Current Revit 2017 software is pre-loaded on desktop computers which will be provided to each student. There is no need to bring in your own personal laptops.Proceeds for these courses will be used to fund Newark Suburban ‘s Scholarship Awards Program. Two instructors will be present in the classroom to afford guidance and assistance.
About the instructor: Richard Bettini has been teaching hand drafting, AutoCAD and Revit for more than 35 years. He is presently an Adjunct Prof. at Kean University- Michael Graves School of Design. He is the author of “The Complete CAD Exercise Book” from Novice to Advanced Projects available on Amazon. Richard has also had fifteen years of experience teaching at the secondary level at West Essex Regional HS in North Caldwell. His HS students have won just about every local and national CAD Design competition in the US.
REVIT COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A small two-story commercial hotel will be used as the classroom project. We will by export a pre-existing AutoCAD sketch into Revit ( provided by the instructor . Then we will build upon this with Walls, Windows, Foundations, Footings, Floors, Ceilings and a Roof. Additionally an Elevator and Stair Components ( both a switchback and straight) will be added to the project. Schedules, interior fixtures and furnishings will be added.
Textbooks -Residential Design Using Autodesk Revit 2017- by Daniel Stein -SDC Publications will be available to each student however. However, they remain in the classroom and are the property of West Essex HS.
