Citizen Architect William J. Martin, AIA, Shares His Expertise On Pascack Valley Construction History

On Sunday, November 17, AIA New Jersey member William J. Martin, AIA, served as guest speaker for the Pascack Historical Society presenting A History of Home Construction in the Pascack Valley. The program was held in the newly reopened headquarters of The Pascack Historical Society at 19 Ridge Avenue, Park Ridge, New Jersey.

The program attracted a full house with all age groups represented. Visitors came from all over the Pascack and Northern Valleys. A whole class from Tenafly High School attended, as well. To learn more about The Pascack Historic Sociaty and to plan your visit, click HERE.

While Mr. Martin frequently shares his knowledge with the public because he enjoys the opportunity to educate the community on architectural topics, he also benefits from establishing himself as an subject expert and so subsequently a name that people think of when in need of a residential architect.

Bill is currently a member and past chairman of the Westwood, NJ Planning Board; Chairman of the Pascack Historical Preservation Board; First Vice President of the Architects League of Northern New Jersey and Public Awareness Chair of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Professionally, Mr. Martin is the developer of the design philosophy “Econo-functional Aesthetic Balance” or E-FABism, of which more can be learned HERE.

William J. Martin, AIA, is the epitome of a Citizen Architect, an architect who serves his community in an elected, appointed or volunteer capacity, as Bill serves in all three. To learn more about becoming a Citizen Architect, AIA has created THIS GUIDE.
