Spiezle Architectural Group Designs Cathedral Village in Multiple Phases

HAMILTON, NJ – Spiezle Architectural Group, Inc., an employee-owned, award-winning, full-service architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, and planning firm, is pleased to announce its continuing design services at Cathedral Village, a senior living community in Philadelphia. The work includes a multi-phase renovation approach. The first phase began in 2014, and the work is scheduled to complete in 2022. The latest phase includes renovating all facades, walkways, and outdoor amenity spaces to encourage outdoor living and leisure activities, a crucial design aspect during the covid pandemic.

“We have partnered with Presbyterian Senior Living to enhance the property with a more philosophical approach, engaging residents in campus planning sessions and throughout all design phases,” said
Steven Leone, Principal with the firm. “The result is a built environment that offers the greatest degree of security and access to the outdoors in an arboretum-like setting featuring tree-filled verandas and relaxing walkways spread throughout.”

The final designs focused on maintaining an open connection with the site and blurring the lines between interior and exterior spaces through movable walls, overhead doors, and folding windows. The firm has provided a thorough and corrective repair plan that establishes a campus identity, improves wayfinding, and allows residents to enjoy the outdoors through detailed programming.

The project consists of 180 apartment units and 133 skilled nursing beds. Amenities include a holistic wellness program called Thrive Wellness, transportation services with easy access to the center city of Philadelphia, aquatic & fitness center, library, computer lab, a wide variety of floor plans to choose from, and more.

The General Contractor for the project is PJ Dick.
