| The 2022 New Jersey Planning and Redevelopment Conference brings together bold ideas, innovative solutions, proven concepts, and best practices for creating stronger, more inclusive, and equitable places where people live, work, and play.
New Jersey Future and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association are proud to partner for the second year and present a three-day conference to be held virtually on March 2-3 and in-person at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick on March 4.
Join us by submitting a proposal after reviewing the guidelines below.
Please note that the Conference Committee is not only committed to a diversity of topics and perspectives, but to a diversity of presenters as well. We believe the issues of systemic racism, segregation, and our legacy of inequality in land use and redevelopment must be tackled in a direct and proactive manner and we will be creating opportunities to do just that at this conference.
AIA New Jersey President Joshua Zinder, AIA, who has presented at this event in the past, offers these tips:
- Include at least one planner. This is a conference for planners. More than one is great.
- The attendees want to hear real experiences from real people so a client on the panel works well.
- Include someone who deals with finances, such as a bank, a loan officer or similar.
- Municipal officials are looked favorably upon especially if it is the town planner.
- Don’t stack the panel with members of your own office, even if they are planners too.
- Make sure that the presentation has planning/zoning implications.
