Jan 13th, 1:00pm ET: Masonry Specification (1 LU/ HSW)

Masonry project specifications can be intricate and complex, especially for masonry contractors, often requiring a high level of attention to detail and subjective interpretation. The format of project specifications follows the same format set forth by the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and is broken down into three parts. These include General, Products (materials), and Construction.

This course will review the different specification types used in the CSI Specification process and how each tie into and support the other, and the importance of proper specification processing for all phases of Masonry Construction from manufacturing through installation and cleaning.

February 10th, 1:00pm ET: Masonry QC (1 LU / HSW)

Building codes for masonry, as for all types of construction, establish minimum requirements to assure public safety. Because contemporary masonry construction continues to evolve it is increasingly important to have a Masonry QA/QC Program to ensure the owner, designer and contractor have their expectations met on the installation of masonry on their project.
In this session, experts from Echelon Masonry & Oldcastle APG will explain the important role of an outlined, fully implemented, CMU QA/QC program plays in ensuring a safe and functional work/living environment inside a masonry structure.

March 10th, 1:00pm ET: Jobsite Masonry Troubleshooting (1 LU / HSW)

Installation and safety are essential in any industry and everyone on the job site. Everybody from the mason contractor/ crew to the general contractor/supervision has eyes on the job. Understanding the methods used and challenges that occur on a job site during the construction of a building are critical to avoid a hazardous and unsightly-looking project.

Join industry experts from Oldcastle APG & Echelon Masonry as we will look at how proper and improper installation techniques contrast in the quality of the finished product along with the safety and long-term health of a masonry building.
