Reading Time: 2 minutesOn Saturday, January, 11, 2025, AIA New Jersey and Newark and Suburban celebrated leadership and winning in style at the 2025 Board Installation and Awards Presidents’ Gala.
It was delightful to be in attendance with so many Women in Architecture! From Fellows Suzanne DiGeronimo, FAIA; Carla Bonacci, FAIA; and Verity Frizzell, FAIA; Strategic Councilor Jessica O’Donnell, AIA; WIA Committee Past Chairs Libertad Lauren Harris, AIA, and Elina Shchervinsky, AIA; to Past Presidents Kim Bunn, AIA; Judy Donnelly, AIA; Christy DiBartolo, AIA; Stacey Ruhle Kliesch, AIA; new AIA Newark and Suburban President Lisa Walzer, AIA, and everyone in between, women of leadership and influence were abundant.
Of particular note, the majority of the Service and Design Jurors AND the Service Award Winners were WOMEN this year! AIA NJ Associate of the Year Megan O’Donnell, Young Architect of the Year Angelica Arent, AIA, Resident of the Year Jennie Pu and Distinguished Service Award Winner Jessica O’Donnell, AIA, were glowing with pride at being recognized, as they should be. Likewise, nearly every design award winner was a woman or included a team of 50% women or more. So refreshing!
