the Community Service Award

At the ALNNJ Installation and Awards Dinner on January 18, 2025, held at Portobello in Oakland, NJ, two prestigious awards were presented, recognizing outstanding contributions to the League, the profession, and the community: the Vegliante Award and the Community Service Award.

Matthew A. Fink, AIA – 2025 Vegliante Award Recipient
The Vegliante Award, the League’s highest honor, recognizes outstanding service and achievements. Matthew A. Fink, AIA, exemplified these qualities through his leadership, dedication, and transformative impact on the League. From his early contributions as an Associate Member in 2015 to serving as League President during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Matt has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the League’s mission. He has coordinated fundraisers, advanced advocacy initiatives for young professionals, and elevated the League’s digital presence, leaving a lasting legacy of service and innovation.

Abigail Benjamin, AIA – 2024 Community Service Award Recipient
Since earning her license in 2019, Abigail Benjamin, AIA, has dedicated herself to mentoring future architects and advocating for emerging professionals. As AIA NJ Licensing Advisor, she has guided countless individuals on their path to licensure and organized educational events like “Destination Architect” presentations and “Pizza with Professionals” gatherings. Abigail has also served as the Young Architects Representative for AIA NJ, fostering connections between emerging professionals and key organizations. Her work in public outreach, including events like the Career Carnival for Kids, highlights the role of architects in shaping the future. Abigail’s tireless efforts to support and inspire young architects and students make her a deserving recipient of this award.
