FROM THE MODERATORS
The AIA Strategic Council kicked off during December’s Governance Week with our seven study groups all working to help advance the architectural profession’s impact, equity, and relevance.
The 10-Year Valuation and Future Blueprint Study Group assesses the Strategic Council’s past decade to enhance governance and alignment. The AIA of the Future Study Group targets member engagement, partnerships, and organizational improvement. At the same time, the Architect of the Future Study Group envisions a long-term role for architects as societal change agents.
Our Climate Responsive Design & Leadership Study Group aims to equip architects with tools and knowledge to address climate challenges while fostering design equity. The Connected Communities Study Group prioritizes leveraging technology and advocacy to enhance public and private sector collaboration.
The Resilient Practice Models group examines ways architectural practices can thrive amidst advancing technologies, encroaching industries, and a record number of retiring firm owners. Finally, the Digital Architecture Study Group explores the integration of AI and digital tools to promote equity, sustainability, and efficiency within the profession.
This year we introduced three parallel charges: each study group will investigate how their respective topics will transform equity in our profession, prioritize wellbeing in our industry, and optimize the business of architecture.
