AIA Newark & Suburban Architects is hosting a unique exhibition showcasing artwork by our local New Jersey students (grades 6-12). The exhibition opened on April 6, 2025, with a reception from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, at the Main Branch of the Montclair Public Library. Immediate Past President John Fallon, AIA; Trustee Elizabeth Pacheco, AIA; and President Elect Kelli Glasgow, AIA, attended. The exhibit will be on display until April 28th, 2025.
The exhibition features drawings, paintings, and software renderings created by students from Newark, Montclair, Orange, Kearny, who participated in AIA Newark & Suburban’s The Holidays Student Art Contest, receiving achievement awards for their creative and inspiring designs. This display provides a fresh perspective on how young minds visualize the world and express their creativity through art and design. Forty-nine students were recognized with awards: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honor.
Held in conjunction with New Jersey Architecture Week (April 6-12, 2025), this exhibition celebrates the artistic talent of local students and provides a platform for them to share their creative work with the community.
By fostering creativity and an appreciation for design at an early age, the contest encourages students to consider how architecture shapes the world around them and inspires future generations to explore careers in architecture and related fields. AIA Newark & Suburban Architects is proud to showcase the artistic achievements of these students, highlighting their creativity and dedication to visual expression.
