Libraries Across New Jersey Recognize New Jersey Architecture Week

The New Jersey Library Association (NJLA) partnered with the American Institute of Architects New Jersey Chapter (AIA NJ) to spread the word about New Jersey Architecture Week!

New Jersey Governor Philip Murphy has proclaimed April 6-12, 2025, New Jersey Architecture Week! The American Institute of Architects New Jersey Chapter is celebrating Architecture Week and our 125th Anniversary by sharing Architecture recommended reading lists for the NJ community!

Over three thousand five hundred New Jersey librarians and staff received Governor Murphy’s proclamation and the NJ Architecture Week Committee’s Book List posters for adults and children in their NJLA newsletters. Designers at Joshua Zinder Architecture + Design created the posters with input from the AIA NJ Architecture Week Committee.

Patrons were met with fiction and non-fiction selections on architecture and architects displayed prominently. Thousands of New Jersey residents were likely positively impacted by the initiative!

AIA New Jersey member Troy Harris, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, shared the architecture reading list with the librarian, Miss Theresa Wordelmann, at his daughter’s school, Jeffrey Clark School in East Greenwich Township.  Miss Wordelmann put together a display with architecture-related books and building activities in the school library to celebrate Architecture Week.

New Jersey Architecture Week may be wrapped up, but the AIA NJ 2025 Architecture Week Posters are still available for you to share with your community of book lovers!  Happy Reading!
