SPEAKER

Joe Brennan, AIA

Joe Brennan will share insights drawn from his extensive professional and academic background on the topic of computational design. He will be showcasing its practical applications through a series of case studies from recent KPF projects, including the iconic One Vanderbilt. These real-world examples will shed light on how computational design techniques have been effectively employed. He will also give us a glimpse of what the future might hold for this exciting field. The presentation will also discuss how computational methods can play a role in improving our urban spaces. 


Joe Brennan, AIA

Adjunct Professor at Columbia University and Senior Computational Designer at the New York office of KPF.

Joe Brennan, AIA, is a licensed architect, educator, writer, and problem solver passionate about digital practice and design technology. Formerly of SHoP, Populous, Gensler, and BLDGWORKS, he is currently a Senior Computational Designer at KPF, where he leverages advanced digital processes and technology to improve the design process.

Joe is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University, where he teaches a graduate architecture class in advanced methods of technology implementation and computational design. He has taught 3D visualization classes and performed research in robotics at the New York Institute of Technology and City College of Technology, respectively.
