Reading Time: < 1 minuteThe AIA New Jersey K-12 Architectural Education Committee and the New Jersey School Board Association participated in a Facebook Live Event on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. NJSBA I-STEAM and Sustainability Specialist John Henry joined Joe David, AIA, Stacey Kliesch, AIA, Jessica O’Donnell, AIA, and Lauren Harris, Associate AIA, to discuss what architecture is, the benefit of design education for the general K-12 population and how students can learn valuable career readiness skills by practicing architectural design. Also, a new design challenge was introduced focusing on spatial understanding, combining logic, creative problem solving, critical thinking skills, visual communications, and two and three-dimensional representation.
