Plan a Visit to Batsto Village and More for Pinelands Month!
October is Pinelands Month, a time to celebrate the New Jersey Pinelands and Pine Barrens. The Pinelands Preservation Alliance, a nonprofit organization that protects the Pinelands, created Pinelands Month in 1996 to encourage people to explore and appreciate the area. October is a good time to visit because the leaves change color, cranberries are harvested, and the air cools down.

Some events that take place during Pinelands Month include:
-
Four single-day self-guided bicycle tours of the Pinelands take place October 3rd through 6th. Proceeds from the tours benefit the Pinelands Preservation Alliance. Register on-site the day of the tour at Laurita Winery 85 Archertown Rd, New Egypt NJ 08533
-
On Saturday, October 12th, this free, annual event takes place and includes art, cultural, and heritage activities, as well as food and history.

It is known throughout the country, both for its beauty and its historical significance. Batsto has roots dating back to 1766, with nearly two and a half centuries of American history available for our visitors to see, all with the lovely Pinelands as a scenic backdrop. On October 20, visitors to Batsto Village can enjoy the Country Living Fair!
