AIA Triangle, a local chapter of the American Institute of Architects based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, has invited four AIA NJ members to serve as the jury for their 2026 Design Awards. They offered their appreciation to Jury Chair, Andrew Thompson, AIA, who, in turn, recognized the contributions of fellow AIA NJ members, Joshua Zinder, AIA; Chris Brand, AIA; and John Fallon, AIA, as additional jurors. Andrew is the immediate past president of AIA New Jersey and AIA Newark and Suburban. Josh is a past president of AIA New Jersey. Chris is a past president of the AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey and Vice President of AIA New Jersey. John is a Past President of AIA Newark & Suburban.

Out of 91 submissions, the group recognized 28 projects with an honor, a merit, or a citation in the following categories: Large Project, Interior Architecture, Residential Architecture, Small Project, Unbuilt, and Community Impact by Design.
According to Julie Barghout, AIA, “It has been (AIA Triangle’s) absolute pleasure and thank you once again for being our Jury Chair this year. We have received lots of compliments and continue to hear how successful this year’s event was, and your contribution, as well as the jury you’ve selected, has not gone unnoticed.” Julie Barghout was the 2026 Chair of the AIA Triangle Awards Committee. She chaired the 2026 student scholarships, the Community Impact Awards, and the Design Awards.
Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to our members for giving back to the industry and our AIA community by volunteering your time and talent to this important assignment.
