AIA New Jersey Announces the Winners of the 2026 Architecture Week Photo Contest

On behalf of the NJ Architecture Week Committee, congratulations to the Winners of the 2026 Architecture Week Photography Challenge!

Joseph David, AIA, is recognized for “BAPS Robbinsville,” which received the Overall “Judges’ Favorite.” 

Joseph David, AIA, is also recognized as the winner in the B&W Category for “Princeton Art Museum Entry.” 

Joseph Lobdell, AIA, CSI, is recognized as the winner in the Color Photo Category for “Follow The Path” of BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, Windsor, New Jersey.

Additionally, the judges granted Mr. David Honorable Mention for “Princeton Art Museum Exterior,” “Effron,” “Jockey Hollow,” and “Princeton Art Museum Atrium,” and Mr. Lobdell Honorable Mention for “Jersey City Piles” in Hoboken, New Jersey, looking at lower NYC, and “White Temple” of BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, Windsor, New Jersey. Honorable Mention was also awarded to Virginia Seminara, AIA, for  “Newark Penn Ramp,” Robert Cozzarelli, FAIA, for “Basilica Sacred Heart,” Richard Metsky, FAIA, Member Emeritus, for “Braced Frames,” and Sal Tomasiello, AIA, for “Jersey Farmstand” in Wrightstown, NJ at Burr Bluebox Market, “Random House” from Cape May, NJ, and “19th Hole” at Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, NJ. (Images shown in the same order.)

Jurors included AIA NJ Public Awareness Committee Co-Chairs William Martin, AIA, & Bruce Turner, AIA, along with AIA NJ President Jessica O’Donnell, FAIA. They were responsible for selecting the most noteworthy images from thirty-nine submissions. The competition was managed by AIA NJ Architecture Week Chair Paul K. Tiajoloff, AIA, PP.
