AIA Jersey Shore President Visits Classroom for Building Week
AIA Jersey Shore President Jason Vico, AIA, was a special guest in his son’s Pre-K class for “Building Week.” Through Jason’s presentation, the children learned about buildings, looked at blueprints, and discussed construction materials. Jason explained how to create drawings and convey ideas to clients. The students each had the opportunity to “render” some residential facades for a fun exercise.
The class had the opportunity to ask Mr. Vico a round of questions. He was very impressed with their inquisitiviness, thoughts and observations, and did his best to answer them. It all culminated in a “Building Study Celebration” where the parents got to see the buildings the class designed and oriented to create a town. It was a great display! There may be a few future architects in this class. K-12 initiatives will be a focus area in 2025, so we LOVE to see community outreach like this. Great job, Jason.
