AIA New Jersey President Andrew Thompson, AIA, NOMAC, Invited by NAIOP to Share Professional Insights on Self-Certification

On March 19, 2025, AIA New Jersey President Andrew Thompson, AIA, NOMAC, participated in the UCC Self-Certification in Action: Real-World Benefits & Efficiency Gains panel discussion at the Annual Public Policy Symposium on March 19, 2025, at the Carpenters Apprentice Training Center in Edison, NJ along with Daniela Bartelli of the Walsh Company and James Rhatican of Hartz Mountain.

After a virtual presentation by Rob Austin of DCA, where it was explained that this self-contained program is fully explained on the Self-Certification webpage, the panelists shared perspectives on how the current permit process may be modified when the new system is implemented.
NAIOP New Jersey Director of Operations, Programs and Education, Ayisha Miles, extended her sincere thanks for Andrew’s participation. She recognized that Andrew’s expertise and insights were invaluable in highlighting the practical benefits and efficiencies of UCC self-certification. She felt that the discussion gave attendees a clear understanding of how these processes can streamline operations and enhance productivity in the commercial real estate sector, and offered meaningful takeaways.
