The AIA New Jersey Design Awards represent the state’s highest recognition for outstanding architectural work. The program celebrates excellence in architecture, interior design, and urban planning—recognizing projects that embody innovation, sustainability, and a positive impact on the built environment. The annual Design Awards provide a platform to honor exceptional work, inspire future generations, and reaffirm the vital role of architecture in shaping New Jersey’s communities.

Recognizing Service to the Profession

The AIA New Jersey Service Awards  honor individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the profession beyond the design studio. These recognitions spotlight leadership, advocacy, mentorship, education, and volunteerism—acknowledging those who advance the mission of AIA and strengthen the architectural community through service and commitment.

Honoring a Legacy of Excellence

The Michael Graves Lifetime Achievement Award is AIA New Jersey’s most distinguished individual honor. Named in tribute to one of New Jersey’s most influential architects, the award recognizes an architect whose career has profoundly impacted the profession through a legacy of excellence in design, leadership, and contribution to the built environment.
