2024 AIANJ Fellowship Seminar

April 25, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Advancement to the AIA College of Fellows recognizes achievement in design, preservation, practice, education, literature and service. It honors architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level. Approximately 3% of AIA members have achieved this honor, which is the highest award given to individuals other than the Gold Medal. To be eligible, you must have completed ten cumulative years as an AIA member in good standing by the October deadline.

The nomination and application process requires significant effort, and our AIANJ Fellowship Committee has volunteered to provide advice and guidance. The online application opens in June and closes in October (dates to be announced). However, if you’re interested in applying, you should start planning now.

The Seminar will focus on the FELLOWSHIP PROCESS, including selecting an OBJECT, choosing your SPONSOR, NOMINATION and SUBMISSION. The presentation will also include a checklist of SUPPORT that the Committee can provide to candidates.

After we introduce the topic, Karen Nichols, FAIA, a former member and chair of the Jury of Fellows, will present the AIA’s Submitting for Fellowship program. Bob Cozzarelli, FAIA, Verity Frizzell, FAIA, and I will be on hand to describe how our committee can help you. A Q&A period will follow. Interested candidates should also visit the AIA Honors and Awards website.

If you are interested in attending the online seminar, please email Christina Goldstein at cgoldstein@njpsi.com.
