Title: Door Hardware: Function vs. Design

Door and hardware specifications require a working knowledge of how door openings function. Utility can often limit design choices, and impede on the vision. This course seeks to expose architects and interior designers to innovative door hardware solutions that allow for maximizing both design intent and utility.

Learning Objective 1: Explain how a door can be hung onto a frame with minimal exposed hardware.
Learning Objective 2: Show how a door can swing clear of molding or disappear when opened.
Learning Objective 3: Define innovative sliding door solutions that minimize visible hardware.
Learning Objective 4: Define swing door hardware for seamless openings.
Learning Objective 5: Define electromechanical hardware that does not sacrifice design.
Learning Objective 6: Define hardware options that quiet operating the door.

Part 2: 6:00–8:00 PM | End-of-Year Celebration

Come gather to connect with women in architecture from across New Jersey for reflection, support, and community building. During the celebration, attendees will be invited to share their 2026 intentions, and 2025 wins, with their wishes to help shape the Women in Architecture initiatives for the coming year.   Light refreshments will be served. Come an relax and enjoy the night being surrounded by great energy!
