Tectonism and Agentic AI
1 HSW
Hosted by the AIA New Jersey TAP Committee, this webinar features Shajay Bhooshan, Associate Director at Zaha Hadid Architects, where he co-founded and leads the Computation and Design research group (ZHACODE).
Drawing from his extensive research and practice in computational design, architectural geometry, and robotic fabrication, Shajay will explore how emerging technologies are reshaping the future of architectural design, fabrication, and urban development. His work bridges advanced computation, material systems, and industrialized construction methods to investigate new possibilities for creating more efficient, adaptable, and performative built environments.
The session will examine how computational design tools and digital fabrication techniques are transforming the architectural process—from design exploration and geometric optimization to the development of innovative construction approaches. Participants will gain insight into how algorithmic workflows, simulation, and robotic fabrication can support more informed design decisions, improve material efficiency, and expand opportunities for complex architectural systems.
Drawing from his research at the Architectural Association School of Architecture and ETH Zurich, as well as professional experience at Zaha Hadid Architects, Shajay will discuss the intersection of design research, technology, and the future of architectural practice.
