DiBartolo Fetured by the Verona Chamber of Commerce

June 03, 2026

AIA Newark and Suburban Past President Christy DiBartolo, AIA, recently gave a presentation to local Chamber of Commerce members to educate the attendees on the requirements to open a brick-and-mortar location.

She shares her experience with us…

“I, along with Verona Zoning Official Kathleen Miesch, gave an overview of both zoning-related matters, as well as Building requirements. Kathleen and I work very closely together, and both feel as though it would be helpful to explain the process and compliance measures. We both find that entities come to us after the fact, after the building has been purchased or a lease has been signed, only to discover that there is an obstacle in the way of what should be a celebratory grand opening.
The message was clear: Please check with the Towns and your design professionals ahead of time to avoid costly conflicts along the way.

While the purpose of the event was merely to educate the members rather than push my business, two entities approached me afterwards, interested in future services.

Presenting in this capacity renders individuals trusted advisors, “go-to” people, and offers a helping hand in a seemingly intimidating and nebulous process.”
