In Memoriam: The Architects League of Northern NJ Announces the Passing of Member Vito Acquafredda

It is with great sadness that The Architects League of Northern New Jersey announces the passing of one of our members – 

Vito Acquafredda, AIA

 

Vito Acquafredda, AIA, age 63, a resident of River Edge for over 30 years, died Monday, March 5, 2018. Beloved husband of Maria-Francesca (nee) Decaro. Devoted father of Anthony Acquafredda and his wife Rosalba and Emanuela Acquafredda. Loving son of Madeline Acquafredda and the late Vitantonio. Dear son-in-law of Pasqualina Decaro and the late Emanuele. Vito is also survived by his brothers; Emanuele and his wife Giuseppina, Mario and his wife Filomena, Claudio and his wife Rita, his sister Maria Isabella and her husband Joseph, his sister-in-law Angela and her late husband Antonio, and his brother-in-law Francesco and his wife Anna. Vito’s memory will always be cherished by his many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Vito worked for many years, most recently as an architect with Expeditors in Edison, NJ. He served on the River Edge Town Council for 6 years and was a past president of the River Dell Board of Education. He was a dedicated family man and enjoyed many years as a youth league soccer coach and referee. He was also an active parishioner of St. Peter’s in River Edge. Vito served as a parent representative for the George Washington University, helping to recruit and interview prospective students. When not dedicating time to his family and the people of River Edge, Vito loved to travel the world; especially, to his native Italy.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday 2-8PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. Funeral service Saturday 9 AM from the funeral home to St. Peters RC Church River Edge for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations to The Englewood Hospital Foundation, 350 Engle St., Englewood, NJ 07631 or to the Visiting Nurse Association at Englewood, 15 Engle St., 3rd Floor, Englewood, NJ 07631.
