December 16, 2018
Reading Time: 2 minutesOn Tuesday, December 11, the board of AIA New Jersey met for the last time under the leadership of 2018 President Verity Frizzell, FAIA. The meeting was held at the Trenton Country Club in the state capitol.
The agenda included the end of year summaries from sections and committees, the introduction of new committee chairs, trustees and officers and a preview of major events coming up in 2019. Of significant note, this was the last meeting consisting of the traditional, larger board that AIA NJ has operated with for at least the last 25 years. In 2018, AIA NJ adopted a new, smaller, more effective governance structure, modeled after the recently updated AIA National board. The change includes reducing the executive board by one vice president and significantly reducing the number of trustees.
Besides the business conducted, the sentiment of the meeting was one of satisfaction, appreciation and anticipation of a strong and successful 2019 for AIA New Jersey and its members.
