AIA New Jersey Member Architecture Firms Participate in Corporate FunRun

The annual Corporate Fun Run was held in Overpeck Park in Ridgefield Park, NJ, on July 19, 2023. This event includes an evening 5k run/ walk, pizza party, D.J, and awards for the largest team, the team with best tee shirt, and fastest teams/ individuals. 

RSC Architects, Arcari + Iovino Architects and Tricarico Architecture and Design attended. 

According to Corporate FunRun, they launched in summer 2014 in Westchester, NY,  with their first “live” event. Since then they have hosted 126 Corporate FunRuns throughout the New York City Tri-State, Mid- Atlantic, New England, Midwest and Southeast regions. Corporate FunRun geographies include Research Triangle NC, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, Westport CT, East Meadow NY, Valhalla NY, Reston VA, Baltimore MD, D.C/Arlington, Princeton NJ, Cincinnati OH, Columbus OH, West Orange NJ, Providence RI and others. There presently have over 850 participating companies and over 13,000 team members amongst all of our events.

The commonality of all “live” Corporate FunRun events is:
1)  Team Building/Employee Engagement
2) Workplace Fitness (runners and walkers are both welcome)
3) Socializing & Fun (free beer, free pizza, d.j, photographer, great swag etc)

There is also a charity fundraising component to the events. CFR writes a check to the charity of choice of each event’s largest team. The check is presented to the team captain during the race night awards ceremony at the same time as they receive their largest company team trophy. Thus, they walk away with a check in one hand and a trophy in the other. The amount is on a sliding scale percentage of gross revenue, the bigger the race, the bigger the check.

Corporate FunRun events draw teams from a wide variety of industry sectors with engineering/architecture, law, accounting, manufacturing, technology, banking/finance, real estate/construction, insurance and hospitals/ health care being very well represented. Fun was had by all!
