The Trenton Historical Society Presents

The Man Who Gave Trenton Curves

Saturday – April 27 – 3 -5 pm

Victor Bohm, a Hungarian architect who emigrated to the U.S. in time to visit the 1939 World’s Fair, introduced Trenton to modernist architecture. The Trenton Historical Society invites you to a presentation on this award-winning designer and the curvy buildings he produced for downtown merchants.

His sleek 1940s commercial buildings concentrated on North and South Broad and East and West State, housed Haveson’s men’s store, Hurley-Tobin furniture store, Capitol Motors’ Plymouth showroom, Rifkin and Grannick ladies store and the Original New York Furrier, among others.

The speaker is Dr. Ẻva Lovra, of the University of Debrecen (Hungary), who was a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of Pittsburgh last year. She’ll be visiting America to attend a conference and we’re fortunate to get her to share her research on Victor Bohm with us.
