“Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset is transforming its first-floor West Wing into a state-of-the-art inpatient unit for their nationally recognized Eating Disorders Program, and the first-phase reception area is now open.
When complete, the newly designed, 18,400-square-foot space will provide an exceptional healing environment capable of accommodating the physical, biological, psychiatric, psychological and social needs of adolescents and adults coping with eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. The unit will expand from 14 to 20 beds, with private rooms and separate areas for adolescents and adults.”
Course Summary
RWJBarnabas Heath recently completed a multi-year, multi-phased 13,000 sf renovation/expansion of an inpatient Behavioral Health Eating Disorder Unit (EDU) located on the 1st floor West Wing at the Somerset campus. The completed EDU adds voluntary Behavioral Health beds for a total complement mix of semi-private and private psychiatric beds; including 10 adult beds and 10 adolescent beds. The units are separated and secured, but share several centrally located support spaces.
