AIA New Jersey Past Vice President Accepts New Board Positions

 

In recent weeks, announcements have been made that AIA NJ Past Vice President and Past President of the Architects League of Northern New Jersey, Kim V. Vierheilig, AIA, has been appointed to two major board positions.

First, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has appointed Ms. Vierheilig to the New Jersey Institute of Technology Board of Trustees. 

Kim is an NJIT alumna who graduated from the university’s NJIT Hillier College of Architecture and Design with a bachelor’s degree in architecture with honors from the Albert Dorman Honors College at NJIT and later earned a master of science degree in management from NJIT’s Martin Tuchman School of Management at NJIT.

Second, Kim’s firm, STV, has shared her appointment to the Board of Directors of the ACE Mentor Program of America, a program that introduces high school students to careers in the design and construction industry.  STV has a long-standing commitment to the program, with leadership representation at the national, regional and local levels, as well as one of the largest groups of mentors from any single organization within the program’s biggest chapter, ACE Mentor Program of Greater NY.

According to Vierheilig, “Mentorship has always been close to my heart; it’s something I’ve spoken about extensively throughout my career,” Kim said. “I’ve been fortunate to have had incredible mentors guide me along the way, and I’m honored to pay it forward by dedicating my time to supporting ACE’s mission.”

According to STV, as president of their national buildings group, Vierheilig oversees more than 350 employees engaged in all aspects of building programming, planning, architecture, interior design, and multidisciplinary engineering. She drives strategy, growth, and project delivery across a range of social infrastructure markets, including justice, education, health and well-being, transportation, science and technology, federal programs,and cities.

With over 25 years of experience as an architect, Vierheilig is committed to advancing the profession and giving back to the community. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) New York City Post, the Board of Directors for the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), the Board of Overseers for the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and the Advisory Board for NJIT’s Hillier College of Architecture and Design.
