Reading Time: 2 minutesAs we begin 2015, I wanted to let the members know that AIA New Jersey (AIANJ) is holding strong and that its membership is growing! We have seen an 8% growth since 2013 and closed the year with 1,961 members. In dissecting the numbers, we are seeing our largest growth in our Associates category, which had an increase of almost 15%! What do these numbers tell us? Well, that the economy is without a doubt recovering, young architects are being employed and that they see the value of being a member of the AIA. This past year AIA launched a free membership program for new college graduates for up to 18 months (http://www.aia.org/join/). I urge all firm Principals to promote this free membership to your young architects and get them involved in a local AIANJ Section. Since joining AIA in 1998 I have taken full advantage of what AIA has to offer and my career has been richer than I ever expected it to be. Make a New Year’s resolution to get involved in your local AIANJ Section and promote your career to the next level!
