Reading Time: < 1 minuteA Poem by Susan P Bristol, AIA, NJ PP, USGBC (1.19.14)
A footprint shows that we were there
A postcard says ‘wish you were here’.
The sandcastle building was there
The waves come in and wash it where?
Survey measures, land is here
Sign says, build it there
Sandy comes, land is where?
Reclaim lives, here & there
Rebuild homes, site was where?
Property lines erased and blurred
There goes here and here goes there.
False foundations hold on tight
To capsized land nowhere in sight.
