EVENT DETAILS
Continuing the dialogue we began last month, our March program looks to focus on the importance of mentoring. Two presentations, totaling 90 minutes, will be given (a total of 1.5 AIA Continuing Education Credits). The evening will include a buffet dinner.
The first presentation will be by Cristina Martinez, the New Jersey representative for the ACE Mentor Program – an organization whose mission is to inspire high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. ACE engages sponsors and volunteer mentors to expose students to real-world opportunities, as well as financially supporting each student’s continued success through scholarships and grants. It reaches over 8,000 students annually. |
|
The second presentation will be by Stacey Ruhle Kliesch, AIA, the AIA NJ Equity in Architecture Committee Chair. Her presentation will focus on the identification and advancement of strategic leaders within an organization and the importance of succession planning. Her experience includes working with individuals through traditional, peer and reverse mentorship. She is a practicing architect, a teacher, and a coach to individuals interested in a career in architecture or design as well as being an advocate for mentoring. |
