Design Excellence and Sustainability Are The Foundation of Success For Hong Jin, AIA, In The AIA New Jersey Women In Architecture Showcase 

Hong Jin, AIA, ASID, LEED® AP BD+C, Principal, is a New Jersey-based architect and interior designer with a proven track record. Her approach engages clients in exploring the confluence of space, design and color and its ability to create vibrant environments. Hong Jin’s work has been honored with numerous design awards including the Design Excellence Award, from AIA Newark and Suburban, and ASID NJ.

A native of Shanghai, China, Jin brings a global perspective, local knowledge, and her unique design sensibility to every project. With over 30 years in practice and a special emphasis on design excellence, she has integrated architecture and interior design to create dynamic spaces which enrich their users’ lives.

As a principal based in Netta’s New Jersey office, Jin is tasked with ensuring that the firm’s reputation for design excellence is consistently met. Her projects include education, government, hospitality, and mixed-use projects such as the award-winning Union County Family Courthouse and North Hanover (NJ) Endeavour Elementary School projects. As the head of Sustainable Design at Netta, She is dedicated to promoting the fundamental principles of sustainability and approaches each design project with its unique social, economic,
and environmental impact in mind. Examples of this commitment can be seen in projects such as Elizabeth Senior Housing, which was the first building to achieve LEED® for Homes Gold Certification in NJ.

Jin holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Hunan University. Subsequently, she attended Pratt Institute School of Architecture and, in 1993, received a Master of Science degree in Urban Design. Jin is a registered architect, licensed in New Jersey and New York. She holds a NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) certificate, which allows her architectural registration in any state, and is a licensed interior designer in New Jersey and New York. She is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

Jin lives in Livingston, New Jersey and is married with one son. Jin is involved in mentoring young students on their path to becoming architects, and in philanthropic projects with the Mulan Club, a non for profit organization aiming to empower Asian women in giving back to those in need.
