AIA New Jersey Fellow William M. Brown, FAIA, NOMAC, Honored At Amistad Gala

On Sunday, February 18th, 2024, The Bugg Foundation of Paterson, NJ, hosted its annual Amistad Gala honoring Black Male Educators. AIA NJ and Newark and Suburban Past President, William M. Brown, III, FAIA, NOMAC, was among the ten honorees. 

 

A night to remember and treasure, Bill received the Amistad Life Time Achievement Award for Community Service.

Bill offered special thanks to his architectural colleagues Robert Cozzarelli, FAIA; Al Zaccone, FAIA; and Immediate Past President of AIA Newark Suburban Architects, Francisco Grimaldi, AIA.
 
 
 
Bill’s sister, Lisa Brown Freeman, in red, joined his devoted wife, Sharon, to celebrate Bill’s momentous recognition. 
 
 
 
On the same weekend, Bill presented as the keynote speaker for the Multicultural Inclusion and Accessibility Advisory Committee of Verona, NJ, its first inaugural Black History Event. The presentation shared his life story, career and community service experiences.
