AIA New Jersey Equity Committee Networking Event for Women’s History Month Is A Success

On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, the AIA New Jersey Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee facilitated a networking event hosted and sponsored by Ulrich, Inc. of Ridgewood, NJ. Colleagues from Arquitina, NOMA-NJ, ASID, and more were invited to embrace the spirit of collaboration and foster connections within the architectural community to celebrate Women’s History Month.

Seasoned practitioners rubbed elbows with emerging professionals and everyone in between as more than 25 industry specialists attended this event designed to bring people together, share experiences, build relationships, and strengthen the bonds within our diverse construction community.

Delly Yaker, AIA, introduced Arquitina, an organization devoted to supporting Latina women through the architectural licensure process and more. Taylor Latimer, President of NOMA-NJ, the state chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects, introduced her organization. Marina Umali, President of the NJ Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, represented her membership.

AIA New Jersey Past President and EDI Committee Chair Stacey Ruhle Kliesch, AIA, introduced Ulrich, Inc. Showroom Manager Linda Alvino, who provided a tour of the spectacular cabinetry displays. Chris Doherty of The Bergen County Scout Guide then introduced the possibility of our small business owners joining her network. After that, all guests participated in interactive activities designed to connect one another and get everyone engaged and invigorated.

Thank you to Ulrich, Inc. for having us in for a lovely dinner and to Kimberly Little from SubZero for the decadent dessert!
