NJSBA STEAM Tank™️ Recognizes 19 Student Entrepreneur Teams with an AIA New Jersey Human Built Environment Badge

 

On Monday, June 3, 2024, Ms. Jennifer Siehl, Manager of the New Jersey School Board Association STEAM Tank™️ Challenge announced the winners of the 2024 STEAM Tank™️ Challenge. This popular program gives students the chance to invent, modify, or use problem-solving skills to solve real-world problems. Architects League members Joseph David, AIA, and Stacey Kliesch, AIA, served as mentors and judges throughout the season. 

The top three high school division winners for the 2024 STEAM Tank™️ Season are:

1st Place- Team RICE Pack – Hoboken High School – $2,500
2nd Place – Team Downspout Dynamo- Hawthorne High School-$1,500
3rd Place- Team Viritec- Ridgewood High School – $1,000
 
The top three elementary & middle school teams have advanced to the NJSBA Workshop on Oct 22 & 23, 2024, at the Atlantic City Convention Center where $10,000 in prize money will be awarded between both divisions, courtesy of ELFNJ.

Nineteen teams were recognized with the AIA New Jersey Human Built Environment Badge, an honor that indicates that these projects contribute to the improvement of the Human Built Environment.
