With the change in the legislature this year, all bills under consideration were removed and either withdrawn or reintroduced. We reviewed over 6,000 reintroduced and/or new bills, determined which affected our profession, and categorized them as Monitor, Support or Oppose.
Key Bills so far in this session:
New Jersey Design Professional Self-Certification Act – Passed both houses and is awaiting Gov. Murphy’s signature
Alternative Path to Licensure Regulations – Draft to be published in the NJ Register for comment period shortly
We continue to keep an open dialogue with bill sponsors, and most are very receptive to our feedback and suggested amendments to support architectural practice throughout the state.
If you would like to participate in AIA New Jersey’s virtual Legislative and Government Affairs Committee meetings, please e-mail cgoldstein@njpsi.com and request to be added to the L&GA Distribution list.
