AIA 2030 Commitment signatories report their progress towards net zero

In its 15th year, the AIA 2030 Commitment community of sustainable design leaders continues to grow with over 1,350 architecture and design firms worldwide. Each year, new signatory and reporting growth furthers the program’s reach and makes it evident that reaching a zero-emissions future—with buildings as a key contributor—is a shared, global mission for architects and design professionals.

In 2023, 490 companies reported a little over 3.9 billion gross square footage across 24,742 projects and 116 countries through the DDx. These projects accounted for an overall 50% reduction in predicted energy usage intensity (pEUI) among whole-building projects and an overall 36% reduction in predicted lighting power density (pLPD) among interior-only projects. Dive into the full 2030 By the Numbers (RY23) report to learn about the progress and trends made in renewable energy, embodied carbon, building electrification, and energy modeling data!
