LEGO Build at the Montclair Art Museum!
March 2 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Please join us for the thrill of a lifetime, and participate in the building of historical Montclair with LEGO!
In this interactive event, teams of AIA Members and/or colleagues and families, will recreate civic, religious, educational, commercial, and residential structures in Montclair, NJ, of historical value, based on images provided to participants. In this 2 hour fast-paced LEGO Build, we hope to promote the importance of and shed public light on the value of historical structures in our communities, and how they still matter in our current, fast-paced technological era. 100,000 LEGO will be used by approximately 50 AIA architects. Schwartz will then speak about the history and architectural highlights of the community, and the value and metrics of preservation.
When: Sunday, March 2, 2024, from 10:00AM-12:00PM. Please arrive between 9:30-10AM!
Where: Montclair Art Museum, 3 S Mountain Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042
Teams: Adults: AIA member and colleagues can form a team but please keep your team to no more than 3 adults. Families: An AIA member can bring partner/spouse and children, but it is recommended that children no less than 7 years old participate.
We will then roll out a 20 x 30 foot map of Montclair and the models will be placed on the giant map.
Price: $15 per team
CEU Credits: 1.5 LU. If you attended last year’s LEGO Build, you will not receive additional credit this time around.
